Card Stock Paper For Boxes

Card stock paper is also called card paper or pasteboard. In order to make the paper strong enough to shape the paper box (such as kraft paper box) or strong enough for book cover, the paper factory produce the paper as more thicker than common to make it more durable enough. So there are more options for card paper, thickness is free to custom and also it have different surface to born new papers, such as gold and silver card stock paper.

Advantage of kraft paper: it could be used no printing, and also enough strength to shape the boxes. It could be for paper inlay.

Disadvantage: it is not printed perfectly, especialy for brown kraft paper and black kraft paper.

High Density Fiberboard

High density fiberboard, also called hardboard, it is a kind of wood board. Nomarlly, we use the thinner board since 2mm-4mm for box , with printed coated paper pasted on. The advantage of this board is much more strong and durable than paperboard. It’s the best choice when the size of box is too big. The disadvantage is expensive than others.

Corrugated Fiberboard

Corrugated fiberboard is a material consisting of a fluted corrugated sheet and one or two flat linerboards. It is made on “flute lamination machines” or “corrugators” and is used for making cardboard boxes. The corrugated medium sheet and the linerboard(s) are made of kraft containerboard, a paperboard material usually over 0.01 inches (0.25 mm) thick. The corrugated paper is the most important part for packaging box, and it can’t be used for box directly. Normally, it need to be pasted with kraft paper together, then got the corrugated fiberboard boxes. As the above picture, you could use different assemble of corrugated paper and kraft paper.
